Protective Orders & Peace Orders

In everyday life people often mistake the phrase "restraining order" for what Maryland law and courts recognize as peace orders and protective orders. In simple and general terms, these types of court orders prohibit an individual from being in the presence of and contacting or attempting to contact another individual for a period of time.

Whether you have just learned that someone is seeking a peace or protective order against you, or you are seeking a peace or protective order against another, an attorney can assist you. JPB Law is here to help.

Traffic Citations

JPB Law is here to help you with your traffic citations, including, but not limited to, driving without a license, driving with a suspended license, speeding tickets, etc. As of October 1, 2025, the stakes have risen when it comes to severe traffic citations in the State of Maryland. If you are pulled over driving 30 miles per hour or more over the speed limit, that citation is now classified as reckless driving, which can result in up to 60 days in jail and a $1,000.00 fine.

DUI/DWI’s

If you have been charged with an alcohol-related driving offense, you should contact an attorney immediately. You may have a limited number of days to make important decision(s) that could affect your driving privileges. Many people do not realize that the Maryland courts and the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) are separate entities, nor that being charged with DUI/DWI involves potential consequences from both.

An attorney can help you navigate these unpleasant times. It is important that you hire a lawyer to analyze the legal and factual circumstances of your case, advise you of your options, and be your advocate in court. JPB Law is here to help.
